Young at Heart Senior Services Hosts Volleyball Tournament to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association
Young at Heart’s 1st Annual Volleyball Tournament to Benefit the Alzheimer’s Association Raises over $2,500!
On July 12th, 24 teams came together to compete for AMAZING prizes at the sand volleyball courts in Santa Monica. I set out to to raise awareness and funds for the Alzheimer’s Association through my passion for volleyball.
The day was filled with all skill levels of play (and music!). Prizes were awarded to the top 2 teams of the winners bracket, top team of the consolation bracket AND to the team who best displayed the color purple! Everyone in attendance was treated to complimentary CORE Water, Vita Coco, ID LIfe and KIND bars!
The fun didn’t stop in the sand! Even those who didn’t compete in the tournament still had a chance to win AMAZING prizes in our raffle which was hosted by a local bar.
The day wouldn’t have been a success without the generosity of our local businesses. T-shirts were donated by Sheridan In-Home Care, a brand new beach cruiser was donated by Helen’s Cycles, Hotel stays at the Luxe and Hotel Shangri-La were sought after prizes – just to name a few!
It was a day that will not be soon forgotten by anyone who participated, and I look forward to hosting this tournament again next year!
